Manipur is situated in the eastern-most corner of Northeast India. The word Manipur is derived from two words, “Mani” meaning ‘Jewel’ and “Pur” meaning “City or place”. Manipur is a state in North East India which became a fully fledged state in March 1972. The state is surrounded with natural beauty. It is known as “Switzerland of India”.The climate is pleasant and is a major tourist destination in India.The Barak River is the largest river in Manipur. The capital city of Manipur is Imphal. The state shares borders with other north-eastern states of Nagaland, Mizoram and Assam and the neighboring country of Myanmar. Due to its wealth of flora and fauna, Manipur is described as a ‘flower on lofty heights’, ‘a jewel of India’ and ‘Switzerland of the East’. Its breath-taking scenic beauty makes it a tourist’s paradise. Manipur has the advantage of acting as India's 'Gateway to the East'through Moreh town, which is the only feasible land route for trade between India and Myanmar and other Southeast Asian countries. Manipur is one of India's largest bamboo producing states and a major contributor to the country's bamboo industry. Manipur has the highest number of handicrafts units as well as the highest number of craft persons comprising skilled and semi-skilled artisans in the entire north-eastern region. Hand loom is the largest cottage industry in Manipur and the state ranks among the top five in terms of the number of looms in the country. Manipur is the first state in India to have set up the 4-core infrastructure of the National e-Governance Plan,namely Common Service Centre, State Wide Area Network, State Data Centre and State Portal, State Service Delivery Gateway and e-forms.

Day 01: Arrive Imphal
Arrive in Imphal and transfer to hotel.

Afternoon visit:

Shree Shree Govindajee Temple: This symbolic Temple in Imphal adjoining the palace of the formerrulers of Manipur is a historic centre for Vaisnava culture. It is asimple and beautiful structure with gold domes, a paved court and alarge, raised congregation hall. The main deity of the Temple is thepresiding deity in the centre is flanked by idols of Radha Govinda,Balaram and Krishna on one side and Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadraon the other.

Khwairamband Bazaar:One of the main attractions of Imphal is the Khwairamband Bazaar. Whatmakes this market different is that it is run by women. Split into twosections on either side of the road, it has tribal women clad incolorful, traditional attire, sells everything from hand-woven shawls,skirts, vessels, mugs and mats to fish, lotus, oranges andorange-flavored honey. And if you wander in the quaint by lanes aroundthe market, you will get a glimpse of Manipur's customs and traditions.

Khonghampat Orchidarium: There is the Khonghampat Orchidarium that has more than a hundredrare varieties of orchids. The best time to visit the orchidarium is inthe months of April and May when the orchids are in full bloom. Stayovernight at hotel in Imphal.

Day 02: Imphal
Morning after breakfast full day excursion around Imphal, visit:

Loktak Lake and Sendra Island:Located 48 kms from Imphal this beautiful lake is resemble like aminiature inland sea. The government had built a Tourist Bungalow forthe comfort of the tourists. From the nearby Sendra island, visitorscan get a bird's eye view of this huge and beautiful stretch of waterand the life on it, the fisherman and their families who live in neathuts on its shores and anticipating their watery environment by castingtheir nets on it, harvesting it for the water chestnut known as Heikak,and even building their houses on the islands of floating weed thatdart around the lake.

Keibul Lamjao National Park: 53 kms. from Imphal and on the sharing the border with Loktak Lake,Keibul Lamjao National Park is the last natural habitat of theendangered marsh-dwelling brow-antlered deer of Manipur called"Sangai". It is the only floating national park in the world which iscomposed of large masses of floating weed (called "Phumdi" in localdialect).

Day 03: Imphal Depart
Morning after breakfast in time transfer to airport for the onwarddestination.

  • All transfers and sightseeing are as per the Itinerary/package and in case of Air Conditioned vehicles, it will be switched off in the hills.
  • The inclusion of extra bed with a booking is facilitated with a folding cot or a mattress as an extra bed.
  • Early check-in or late check-out is subject to availability and may be chargeable by the hotel. The standard check-in time is 1300 hrs and the standard check-out time is 1000 hrs.
  • Any kind of personal expenses (Laundry, room service etc..) or optional tours/ extra meals are not inclusive in the package cost.
  • The hotel reserves the right of admission. Accommodation can be denied to guests posing as a couple if suitable proof of identification is not presented at check-in. Travelspro will not be responsible for any check-in denied by the hotel due to the aforesaid reason.
  • In case of non-availability of above mentioned hotels similar category hotel will be provided.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellation done from the booking date till seven days prior to the departure date, charges is thirty percent of the package cost.
  • Cancellation done from three days to seven days prior to the departure date, charges is fifty percent of the package cost.
  • Cancellation done twenty four hours to three days prior to departure date, charges are seventy five percent of the packages cost
  • Cancellation done less than twenty four hours prior to the departure date, charges are hundred percent of the package cost
